Lauryn Hill To Perform At ‘Rock Like A Girl’ For ‘One Mic: Hip-Hop Culture Worldwide’ Festival

Ms. Lauryn Hill will make a special appearance April 5th at Rock Like a Girl, featuring performances by legendary rap artist MC Lyte, critically acclaimed lyricist Jean Grae, Grammy Award–winning violinist Miri Ben-Ari, French Chilean MC Ana Tijoux, and other special guests. Be’la Dona will serve as the house band with DJ Beverly Bond on the ones-and-twos. The event is a collaboration between DJ, founder, and CEO of Black Girls Rock!, Beverly Bond, and the Kennedy Center.

Rock Like a Girl will celebrate women’s contributions to the art and culture of hip-hop. Free tickets will be distributed two (2) per person in line on Saturday, April 5th in the Hall of Nations, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Audience members also can join a post-show discussion with artists, academics, and activists that encourages dialogue and analysis of the ways women of color are portrayed in the media.

The event is part of the festival, One Mic: Hip-Hop Culture Worldwide. Read more at Kennedy-Center.org.
