On Saturday November 5th, the stars came to Cleveland as part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Case Western Reserve University’s American Music Masters Tribute Concert to Aretha Franklin. The performers included Twinkie Clark, Dennis Edwards, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Ronald Isley, Chaka Khan and others. Ms. Hill performed “One Step Ahead,” “Day Dreaming,” and “A Rose Is Still A Rose” during the tribute.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and Case Western Reserve University will honor Aretha Franklin during the 16th annual American Music Masters series this November. The weeklong celebration, Lady Soul: The Life and Music of Aretha Franklin, will culminate with a tribute concert on Saturday, November 5, at 7:30 p.m. at PlayhouseSquare’s State Theatre in Cleveland. Ms. Lauryn Hill will join Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Dennis Edwards of the Temptations and Ronald Isley of the Isley Brothers for an all-star salute to the acclaimed artist.

Also on the bill for the show are Rock Hall nominee Chaka Khan, keyboardist Spooner Oldham, vocalist Cissy Houston, jazz singer Carla Cook, “American Idol” alumnus Melinda Doolittle and singer-guitarist Mike Farris. Additional guests will be announced in the next few weeks. Franklin will attend the concert, although she is not scheduled to perform, PlayhouseSquare reports.

The Boston-area date of the ROCK THE BELLS 2011 FESTIVAL SERIES, which would have featured Ms. Lauryn Hill, and was recently rescheduled for Saturday, September 24 at the Comcast Center from September 10, has been canceled. Ticket refunds for the original and rescheduled dates will be available immediately at point-of-purchase. Read more at RockTheBells.net.

Rock The Bells announced today that its September 10th show scheduled at Comcast Center has been moved to September 24th due to scheduling conflicts that could not be avoided. Tickets purchased for the earlier date will be honored at the venue on September 24th. Ms. Lauryn Hill, Nas, and others are scheduled to perform.

The Lauryn Hill and Nas concert scheduled for September 6th at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada has been canceled because of a scheduling conflict, reports concert promoter Evenko. Refunds for tickets will be available at the initial points of purchase. The organizers apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Ms. Lauryn Hill performed her classic album “The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill” on September 3rd at Rock The Bells on Governors Island in New York, and she was joined onstage by Pras for “Ready Or Not” at the end of her set and an encore performance of “Killing Me Softly.” You can watch a fan video of “Ready Or Not” below.

Ms. Lauryn Hill will be joined by Nas for two performance dates next month:

  • September 6 – Montreal, Canada – Bell Centre (Buy Tickets)
  • September 8 – Toronto, Canada – Molson Canadian Amphitheatre (Buy Tickets)
  • As part of the Rock The Bells festival, Ms. Hill is expected to perform “The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill” in its entirety, and Nas will do the same with his album “Illmatic.”
